LESSON: Scooter Basketball
GRADE(S): K-5
SKILLS: Throwing/Catching, shooting a ball, hand-eye coordination.
EQUIPMENT: Round scooter board with basketball goal attachments, 4 square scooters (2 different colors), soft spongeball to use for basketball, floor tape to mark boundaries.
DESCRIPTION: Students will be separated into two equal teams. Students will have to work together and strategize on ways to advance the ball down the court and get the best possible shot at the goal. The defensive player sitting on the scooter with the basketball goal is allowed to move around as long as they stay in the predetermined space outlined by the floor tape. Each made basket is worth one point and each student should get several turns.

Lesson Title: Human Hungry, Hungry Hippos
Grades: K-5
Equipment: Two small laundry baskets, two scooters, rope to pull each scooter, 30-40 different sized balls, and floor tape.
Description: Students will compete in this fun filled relay in which they will be pulled by a teammate, while riding on a scooter, to collect hippo food. Students will have to turn basket upside down to scoop up hippo food. Game is over when all the balls are gone and team that got the most wins.

Lesson: Scooter Hockey

Skills: Hockey dribbling, passing, shooting, and gameplay (spacing/strategies)
Description: Students will be separated into two teams and will be numbered off. Students will come out when their numbers are called. Students will utilize the skills practiced in weeks prior to play a hockey game. Students will try to invade their opponents area to score on their goal. Each round will last roughly 2 minutes before a new group of students are called out. K-2 grades will play 2vs2 and grades 3-5 will play 3vs3.

Lesson: Sinkerball
Grade(s): 3-5
Skills: Throwing for accuracy, dodging and blocking
Description: Students will either be a "tugboat" or a "thrower" during this exciting game. Students that are tugboats must carefully pull their scooter from one side of the playing area to the other without their bowling pin falling off the scooter. If a ball knocks it off or it falls off because scooter is being pulled too fast, then that student must drop their rope and go help another tugboat. Balls can be caught, dodged and blocked to avoid bowling pin being knocked over.

Skills: Teamwork, mathematics, cardiovascular
Description: Students will have to push their modified shopping cart through an obstacle course in order to make it to the isle with the "food" (beanbags). Students must pick up one beanbag at a time and return it back to their team. Team with the most food wins the game.

Students on the scooter must start spread out (to avoid traffic jams) and travel in the same direction. If music stops, then students will perform designated scooter exercise.
