overview of the challenge
A healthy and balanced diet is not only necessary for overall health and development, but it also helps boost the immune system, lower the risk of noncommunicable diseases, and improve longevity! This challenge helps participants enjoy a healthy, well-rounded diet by following basic nutrition principles from the World Health Organization.
To start, participants will learn about important ways to make nutritious choices and build healthy eating habits. Creative and nutritious recipes from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics will also be provided to inspire healthy cooking at home! During the challenge, participants will earn Wellable Points for engaging in daily healthy eating habits and submitting a photo of a nutritious dish they prepared and enjoyed!

For each Healthy Eating Habit and/or Physical Activity that a participant completes, they'll enter it into the form "To Earn Wellable Points". Every category above (Walking & Running, Cycling, Other Fitness Activities, Daily Healthy Eating Habits, and Healthy Recipe Photo) is worth 1 Wellable Point. If you submit a picture of you completing one of the above wellable challenges, then you'll receive 2 Wellable points. The person that earns that most Wellable points from each GMSD building will receive a prize and be entered into a raffle for a grand prize.

Wellable Points can be earned by tracking distance traveled from walking and running through apps you'd like to use or track them manually. Enter these activities in our GMSD Wellable Entry Form!
How do participants earn Wellable Points for cycling?
Wellable Points can be earned by tracking distance traveled from cycling through apps you'd like to use or by manually logging them. Enter these activities in our GMSD Wellable Entry Form!
How do participants earn Wellable Points for other fitness activities?
Wellable Points can be earned by tracking other fitness activities, such as yoga, aerobics, and weightlifting, through apps you'd like to use or track them manually. Enter these activities in our GMSD Wellable Entry Form!
What are Healthy Eating Habits?
At the beginning of the challenge, participants receive educational content about basic nutrition principles from the World Health Organization and how they can be practiced to create lasting, healthy habits. They will then be encouraged to engage in four different Healthy Eating Habits throughout the challenge. After engaging in a Healthy Eating Habit, participants will log the activity to earn Wellable Points. Each Healthy Eating Habit can be logged once per day during the challenge. The four Healthy Eating Habits are:
* Ate 5 Portions Of Fruits And Vegetables
* Lowered Saturated And Trains-Fat Intake
* Limited Salt Intake
* Reduced Sugar Intake

How do participants submit a Healthy Recipe Photo?
Whether it is one of the recipes provided by Wellable challenge or something they create on their own, participants will then be encouraged to prepare a nutritious meal or snack once during the challenge and send a picture of their dish to the GMSD Entry Form.
