The Marathon Runners of GMSD program was created by Andrew Martin and the Department of Coordinated School Health.
The program is designed to reward and incentivize students to earn and track miles. Students that are involved in Memphis Youth Athletics Cross Country teams, Middle and High School XC and track teams, and running clubs will be able to participate in this program. |
why is marathon runners of gmsd important?

The Marathon Runners of GMSD is important because we want to be advocates for our student's health and fitness. We want to provide opportunities for them to be active and reward them for doing so.
The students that participate in these running related clubs or teams are working hard to achieve personal and sport specific goals. The Department of CSH and GMSD wants to be there to provide encouragement, motivation, and some cool prizes along the way! |
how will the students be rewarded?

Students that reach specific milestones through the Marathon Runners of GMSD will receive award certificated for each milestone and a gift from the Department of Coordinated School Health.
The certificate templates will be available for each school on this website. All you'll have to do is download it and add your runner's name to the certificate. The prizes from CSH will be ordered to start the season and will be made available to the coaching staff to distribute to runners that have reached their milestones! |

All of the prizes above will be provided for students that reach their milestones. The prizes will come with a GMSD logo to showcase their participation in the Marathon Runners of GMSD program and completing the designated number of miles to earn their prize!
award certificates & tracking miles
The award certificates below are for specific for each school. Each school will have an award certificate for each milestone (26.2 miles, 52.4 miles, 78.6 miles, and 104.8 miles). A separate award certificate template will be made for each school that will be an achievement certificate for completing the program!
