Lesson Title: Crab Soccer
Grades: K-5
Equipment Needed: 4 cones, poly spots (enough for each student), crab soccer ball.
Description: Students participated in a fun and challenging game called crab soccer. Students had utilize two key elements of fitness to play this game, muscular strength and muscular endurance. Students had to perform the movement of crab walking to play this game and kick the ball to score points on the other teams. This game is a student favorite and has so many different elements involved. It involves fitness, teamwork, strategy, and even math!
Assessment: Students were assessed through teacher observation.
Grades: K-5

Lesson: Human Foosball
Grade(s): K-5
Skills: Passing/Trapping a soccer ball, foot-eye-coordination, strategy and team building, and soccer dribbling
Equipment: One soccer ball, two different colored jerseys, floor tape for court, and cones for goals.
Description: Students will be separated into two equal team. Students must utilize the skills learned from previous lessons to dribble, pass, and trap a soccer ball to advance it down the court. Points are scored by getting by getting ball through other teams goals.
Assessment: Teacher will assess students through a GPAI (Game Performance Assessment Instrument)

Skills: Kicking with a running approach, foot-eye coordination, catching/throwing, and base running.
Description: Students are separated into two equal teams. Offensive team tries to score runs by kicking a ball and running bases until they get back to home base. Teams switch sides when a team gets 3 outs. Defensive team forces outs by catching a kicked ball, tagging a runner, or touching base with ball before runner gets there.

Next runner will start running once first runner gets back to home base. A team gets an out once ball is returned to home base. Switch sides after 3 outs.

Lesson: Ultimate Crab Soccer

Skills: Kicking, Muscular Strength and Endurance
Description: A new spin on the popular version of crab soccer. This version allows for up to 100 students to play. The activity area is bigger, the number of students is bigger and the stakes are higher as this game allows for up to 16-20 students to play at a given time. Students will come out when their numbers are called and attempt to kick the ball over an opponent's line. Points are bad and the team with the lowest number of points wins.

Skills: Kicking and Running
Description: Students will be separated into two equal teams. Students on offense will be in a line behind on home base and will take turns kicking a gator skin ball (one at a time) as the teacher rolls a ball out. Immediately following the kick, the student will start running the bases as the pitcher (teacher) will roll out ball to next person. Defense will retrieve balls and place them inside hula hoop. Any person that hasn't made it back to home base does not earn a point. Rotate sides and continue game as many turns as possible.
