dr. seuss week
I know Dr. Seuss week is coming up and many of you may do activities in the gym with your kids incorporating it. Here are station cards I have created and used as well as a breakdown of what each station consists of. I will add the pdf into the files on this page in case you would like to use them!
Stations:
Stations:
- The King's Stilts- High stepper cups to walk and work on balance.
- The Shape of Me and Other Stuff- Jump ropes used to create shapes and letters. I also have Dr. Seuss cards with shapes on them they can use as inspiration for designs.
- Ten Apples Up On Top- I create a pathway with river stones and rocks and students balance beanbags on their heads and attempt to make it across the obstacles. Each round they add another "apple on top".
- The Lorax- I created Truffala Trees to race around using scooters. I have included a pic so you have an idea of how to make these out of pool noodles.
- Hop-On Pop- Hopscotch with a hopscotch mat and also with a grid made out of hula hoops.
- If I Ran the Circus- Juggling scarves and rings.
- The Foot Book- Dribbling the soccer ball around the cones. I also put out small pop-up soccer goals for students to shoot at after making it through the cones.
